What's next for ecommerce?
As finance executive here at carriboo, I have been fortunate enough to have years of experience on “the other side” - managing in-house logistics with multi-brand retailers from high street to luxury. Striking the right balance between effective cost control and the best experience for the end customer is a challenge I have undertaken many times.
At carriboo we understand the market is consistently evolving, and we’re agile enough to create bespoke solutions for ecommerce businesses to scale, as customer expectations rise and new technologies move ever quicker, despite paperwork bringing a cumbersome and ever-heavy workload.
Some amazing brands clearly don’t have the correct logistics infrastructure in place in order to provide a seamless, end-to-end business solution, and this is where carriboo can help you with our extensive network of global carriers and advanced analytics on the present and future growth potential of your market.
How ecommerce logistics is evolving
More local focus. We are now entering a phase of where a customer expects a super-smart delivery proposition with a range of shipping costs. Personalisation and the unboxing experience is becoming ever more key.
Building partnerships. We have partnerships with key global players in the market in order to offer you flexible and efficient delivery services, either by working with your own team or analysing your data and costs and a recommendation on the best way forward, dependent on your business objectives.
Sustainability. This is a great value-add to your proposal and will only become more important (I’m highly confident in the very short term here) so now is the time to act. We can offer green solutions, whether that be through using all electric fleets or carbon offset. Our research tells us that only 5-10% of current ecommerce deliveries are currently truly green, so this could be a great differentiator for your brand.
Wrapping up
The companies that lead the way in the new logistics world will find it easier to scale and be seen as as pioneers in the industry. Whether it’s
ideas on a sustainable delivery approach,
cost / benefit analysis on an in-house team vs outsourcing your logistics challenges, or
our thoughts on last-mile delivery tech-driven solutions as “the next big idea”.
